| Offence | Buffalo | Oooh! 55 points, 482 yds, 7 TD passes, no interceptions, no fumbles, no sacks. |
| Defence | New England | A brutal display, limiting the explosive Fish to just 260 total yards |
| Coach | Udowiczenko (NE) | Look like he's finally learned to overcome Drew being rotten . . . |
| NFC | ||
| Offence | Minnesota | A great effort against a very useful Detroit D. An honourable mention to the Bears too. |
| Defence | Philadelphia | Eagle offence was surprisingly ordinary, but with this D it didn't matter. |
| Coach | Heath (PE) | Pleasingly back this year with a real vengeance, and still perfect. |
| The Diddley | San Francisco | Seattle had a crack but their comeback was miraculous enough to make their win deserved. Even we had another crack, but the strangely quiet Niner offence guided them to the gong. |
